The Rain in Spain....
...comes down mainly during the main race! 40 people treated for hypothermia - more Manchester than Madrid. There were lots of crashes with 42 roundabouts on the bike course and lots of hills on both the run and bike and so a not particularly long race became a really tough and eventful one. That suited me and I loved the bike ride in particular. I was a bit cautious on the first run, coming in 15th (29 in age category) but had a great ride and got up to 5th which I held onto. Missed out on a medal by 2 minutes but delighted with overall placing and 3rd Brit out of 15 (so pre-qualified for next year) and also delighted to get into the warm after the race!
