Marathon du Medoc
Saturday 13th September 2014
I made the trip to sunny Bordeaux to run the Marathon du Medoc last Sunday. Over 10,000 people in fancy dress, running between the 21 wine tasting stations in the beautiful chateaus of the Medoc region of France make this is an incredible marathon, although admittedly not a PB course!
Whilst meandering through the pretty vineyards, we were treated to some fantastic red wines, running through the beautiful courtyards and gardens of fairytale chateaus, as well as a feast of oysters, rib eye steak, fromage, fois gras, waffles, cake and ice-cream. And then a post-race party to top it all off with as much food as you could wish for and a refreshing beer in the sun.
Itís a fantastic friendly event, attracting people from around the world, making it a brilliant vibrant day out. And luckily, we managed to avoid the broom sweeper!
