Lakeland Trails Kentmere Trail Race
Saturday 31st May 2014
ClaireS

The Lakeland Trails series kicked off last Saturday with the Kentmere challenge. There is a 10km and 17km option and both go through some stunning countryside in the south lake district. The 17km starts off with around 2km of steep uphill country lanes before hitting the trails - some sharp ascents and descents as well as some flatter sections across the open fells before the 'Sting in the Tail' up and down Reston Scar in the last few kilometers. Its a fantastic event, really well organised and a great event village at the start/finish. The organisers run other events throughout the summer, often on a Saturday, meaning you've still got the Sunday to get back out in the hills (if your quads can take it that is!) before heading back home to the flatlands of Cambridge.
