Drei Zinnen Alpine Run
Sunday 8th September 2013
David Barber

Mountain race starting in Sesto and finishing at the Drei Zinnen Hütte -- an altitude difference of 1350m. The actual total ascent measures about 1600m by Garmin.

For those interested:

* The section from about 9km to 14km is very steep and narrow with limited opportunities to overtake.

* The first 4km are basically flat and can be run at 10km race pace. From 4km to 9km it's only gently uphill and can be pushed fairly hard. It's important to take advantage of these easy sections in order not to get stuck in a train of slower people on the steep section.

*Learn a fast uphill walking style -- it's far too steep in some sections to run and a very fast walking/scrambling action is essential.
