This year the race changed its course, time of year (from August), time of day (from evening), but thankfully not its name. I got the impression that it was slightly less undulating than previous routes, but the race did save up all its venom for the final stretch in the form of 2 big nasty beasts to surmount in the heat at the very death. The relatively low WAVA scores, however, at least partially reflect the terrain, or at least in my case, I am hoping so.
Fantastic run from Andy Whittle to claim 3rd place, and great to see some really gutsy running by John and Leanne Mills, Simon Glover and Pete Welton, all members of the Monday evening running group, who overcame all the wibbles and the wobbles, and more than jogged over the logs.
Well done, everyone else, and I'm sure you will mend soon, Andy I!
