Glyn Smith
From Neil Costello:
Many C&C members will know Glyn Smith and may be aware of the sad news about him. Glyn went walking and running in the Scottish Highlands in the early Spring this year. He went missing almost immediately. Lots of searches and enquiries were put out for him to no avail and he is now presumed dead. Glyn has been a member of C&C since the mid-1980s. He took a leading role in the endurance group and coached regularly - his ‘Thursday hills’ session is notorious. His warmth and friendliness were second nature. He made everyone feel welcome and he was hugely valued as a friend by everyone who met him.
Glyn’s son, James, is holding a memorial service for his Dad on Saturday. 22nd October 2022 at 11am at the St Andrews Centre, Histon, followed by drinks and food at the Railway Vue pub (Histon again). James has said it would be great to see as many of his Dad’s recent and old running friends as can make it - everyone is welcome. It will be an informal event and James has asked if runners can wear running tops! For all of us who knew Glyn, let’s give him a great send-off. Thanks.
Neil
